ORIGIN 'Redkan' (s) is a mutation of the variety Top Red with spur character. It was discovered in South Tyrol. in 1998.
TREE
Vigour: very uniform, pronounced spur character. Blossom: middle to early season. Pollination: Golden Del., Granny Smith, Idared, Gala.
FRUIT
Colour: completely intensive dark red colour. Flavour: high sugar content. Shape/size: elongated shape with typical 5 points at the end. Skin: thick, smooth. Fruit flesh: green-white, firm, crispy.
CHARACTERISTICS
'Redkan' (s) has an optimal fruit shape (long, conical /cylindrical with well pronounced 5 points at the end.) and optimal fruit colour (dark red, intensive, very early and uniform). Fruits are less susceptible to sun burn because of early colouring (colouring starts middle of July).
